Mountain Flying
We believe our mountain flying training is the best in the country. We're not claiming to be experts in IFR . . . but we are the best when it comes to mountain flying. From Queenstown, virtually every departure and arrival we make interacts with the mountains. It's challenging, exciting, and with our years of experience flying in this area, it becomes the safest.
We can taylor Mountain Flying training to suit your needs.
- Intro to Mountain Flying ? of about 1.5 duration, a taste of mountain flying.
- Or as many hours as you would like to do.
Generally it takes about 10 - 15 hours of flying amongst the mountains before the student can use the techniques with some reasonable degree of accuracy, so we suggest doing at least 10 hours.
You can apply to do any one of these courses by filling out an application form ? and returning it to us.
Our mountain flying training is on-demand, and is included in the 50 hour local experience requirement (for employability) and the CPL training course. It is not however included in the 'C' Category Instructor course. Our mountain flying experience is essential for employment in the area, and is also good insurance for safe, enjoyable, recreational flight in any mountainous terrain.
