Commercial pilots are often employed by our commercial arm, Air Wakatipu, for a season after completing the club's mountain flying training course. Many of those flying for local charter airlines learned to fly at the Wakatipu Aero Club. Some have gone on to fly for regional and international carriers.

A career as a flight instructor is very rewarding and there can be few places better to teach than at the Wakatipu Aero Club. Those successfully completing the C-cat flight instructor rating at the club have a very good prospect of teaching flying in our unique environment.
